Jalan Bumbong is built to give off a zen-like atmosphere, with the usage of wood and white walls. The wooden panels form a screens on the side of the house that allow light into the house, as well as giving a sense of privacy to the residents. The way the wooden panels are lined together with gaps in between them gives a unique motif to the appearance of the building, making the house even more eye-catching.
In contrast to the rustic and zen appearance of the face of the house, the rooms themselves have a white colour scheme. The floors are laid with marble and the walls painted cream, giving it a rather pristine look.
