ASIAN CIVILISATION MUSEUM

Edmund Ng Architects was given the opportunity to design the exhibition space for Ghost Nets of the Ocean: Au Karem ira Lamar Lu at the Asian Civilisations Museum. The marine-themed exhibition features works by indigenous and non-indigenous artists from Erub Arts on Darnley Island, Torres Strait, Australia, and aims to raise awareness about pollution and marine conservation.

To complement the woven works, Edmund Ng Architects utilised a clean, minimalist aesthetic with reflective surfaces and tiered platforms. This opens up the exhibition, creating a spacious, light-filled environment. The works were also suspended at various heights, resembling how sea creatures navigate ocean currents.
